From Country House to Viceroy`s House

The team at Peppering High Barn were delighted to host another event for the Arundel Festival programme. This year we welcomed Martin Lutyens, Sir Edwin`s great nephew and Chairman of the Lutyens Trust who explained how the great architect`s style matured and evolved from the early Country houses to the buildings of New Delhi.

Our favourite Lutyens house was mentioned- Little Thakeham which we have had the privilege of working on in the past. Little Thakeham was designed in the style of a Tudor Manor house with a daring Free Vernacular interior and even Sir Edwin proudly described it as "the best of the bunch”.
